Into the Unknown: Vintage Carlos Falchi

We’re always on the hunt for cool vintage eyeglasses for the shop, and we occasionally stumble upon some surprising finds. Carlos Falchi’s eyewear line is one of them.  Famous for his use of patchwork techniques and exotic skins, Falchi is a world-reknown designer of women’s handbags.  But try googling “Carlos Falchi Eyewear” and see what comes up…nothing.  It’s almost as if this brand never existed.  The manufacturing origins of these frames are equally strange, with some frames coming from Germany, some from Italy, and others from the USA.  We picked out the best of the collection, and they can now be found exclusively at Labrabbit Optics.  Snakeskin, leather, and lizard-skin details are found throughout the collection, as are complex, layered acetates.  Shapes range from conventional P3′s, to re-imagined aviators, to the unclassifiable.
