Randolph Engineering: Military-Grade Sunwear (Part 2)

Another thing we love about Randolph Engineering sunglasses is the incredible quality of their construction.  While much of Ray-Ban’s manufacturing is now done in China, Randolph manufactures their eyewear in the USA (with the exception of the “P3,” which is made in Italy).  And it shows.  The solder joints are super-sturdy, to the extent that Randolph will replace or repair any broken solder joint for the lifetime of the product.  While shatter-resistant polycarbonate lenses are available for all of their sunglasses, we typically order lenses made from mineral glass, still the most scratch-resistant and optically precise material available.  The lenses block 98%-100% of harmful UV rays, and are chemically tempered for impact resistance.

And did we mention that Randolph Engineering is the sole supplier of sunglasses to the U.S. Department of Defense?  Serious gear, indeed.
